1-2-3- KICK!!

"Ann & I at Julie's Baby Shower"
Thats right - I felt the first official kick last night!! Just laying there watching American Idol ( yes, another symptom of this pregnancy, I am now addicited to American Idol!) and had my hand on my tummy and thump-thump!! And trust me - it wasnt gas. I know gas and this was not it :) John came to bed and we shut the tv and just laid there real still so he could feel and even though I felt a few more thumps ( all on the same side) they weren't strong enough for him to feel just yet. Still, EM was def kickin around in there - maybe dancing :) Pretty darn cool!! I just cannot wait til EM's moving around so John can feel it -- and the girls -- and all of EM's Aunties and Grandma and Grandpa and...and...:)

17 weeks & another visit from grandparents-to-be

We had a great visit with mom and dad. They got to pat the belly - which seems to be growing by the day - and feed the belly with good meals out. We also celebrated Mom's PHD, with yes, a great big meal. All in all a wonderful time and we are feeling great. As far as the dreams tally go - I've had one dream of a girl and one of a boy. John's had one of a boy - in two 1/2 weeks we'll know who's right ;)

15 wk check up - ALL GOOD!!

No pictures to show but we did hear a heartbeat and it was strong! The baby was also moving around in there and the doc said all sounded good. I've gained 6 lbs - so am right on target, so all in all a v.v. good doc visit. Our next one will be THE one - lets call it G-Day - we will find out the gender. So until then, we'll have to keep on dreaming and predicting. Speaking of, I had a dream Monday night that we had a girl, she was newborn, had my nose, John's eyes, Angelina Jolie's lips (I know!) and brown hair. She was beautiful. Then suddenly she was a toddler, she had teeth and was running around talking and I was trying to put barettes in her hair. I woke up feeling very warm and wonderful. John had a dream last week that we brought home a boy baby - so we are one for one. Please feel free to share your dreams if you have any that will tip the scales in one or the other direction :) At the end of the day, we are blessed and happy and a healthy baby - be it boy or girl - is all we pray for.

14 wks & I'm Not Fat...

I'm Knocked Up!! Thats the fun t-shirt Auntie Chel Chel got us - and as you can see, I wear it proudly. We had a week of growing pains but that is all good cause, as you can see, there is def something growing in there and we like that! All this growing doesn't just make Mommy-to-be tired -- check out Daddy and Big Sister :)

13 1/2 weeks & already fighting over the baby!!

Fun Fact: For nine years Molly-cat has slept by my feet or in the crook of my legs. For nine years Shenobie-cat has slept on top of my pillow or curled up by chest so my head could rest on her. These past few weeks, both at night and when I nap, both of them have alternated sleeping curled up, back to my belly, purring so I can feel it on my belly (LOVE THAT!).

Last nite was a different story - we had a WWF match on our hands. Shenobie crawled under the covers, positioned back to belly and purred. We were content. Then Molly(the normally docile, sweet one) jumped up and started walking on her. Shenobie made that "get the *&!@ off me sis" noise. Molly continued to walk back and forth on her until she crawled out from under the covers in a rage, hissed and lept to the floor. Molly, the victor, took her position near the belly, purred and we both fell asleep. A short time later, I wake up to Shenobie sitting there swatting Molly with her paw, over and over and over. First on Molly's face, then on her head, then it was the double paw swat to her head and body. Molly fought back a little, but to no avail. Even though Shenobie is declawed, she's one strong, mean bitch when she wants to be, and finally Molly gave up her spoils and lept off the bed. Shenobie took her throne for the rest of the night while Molly slept in the crook of my legs waiting for a weak link in Shenobie's defense.

Suffice it to say, Mommy and EM love every moment of it - I can't wait until EM's big enough to kick back when they purr and talk to them. We'll see if the saga continues tonight :) And I don't care what any skeptic says, these cats know there's a baby Fleming in there and they are already protecting it and bonding with it - how cool is that??!!
