Meet... Solomon Walker Fleming!!

That's right - we're having a son!! A perfect son. He's right on target weight wise, length wise, everything is in the right place and growing and this mommy and daddy couldn't be happier. The tech did her job and checked everything and as she called out each part and that there were two hands, and two feet and two kidneys and no clef lip and..and..I just kept crying cause I didn't realize all of that stuff could be wrong. And so even though she didn't tell us if it was a boy or girl I was just so happy it was all healthy - then of course came the big moment and the grin on John's face was a mile-wide. He most definately wanted a boy and he was and is beaming. We both are.

Solomon Walker is named after my father's father - Solomon and John's father's father Eugene Walker. We are proud and excited and know he will grow to be a fine, wonderful, smart, strong, loving and funny person just like his two great-grandfathers. We are blessed to have you all in our lives to share this.

Love, Allie, John and Baby Sol!!

18 weeks & EM knows Daddy!

So the kicks and movements are getting a little stronger every day. I admit, my favorite passtime is sitting on the couch ( or anywhere for that matter!) with my hands on my bare tummy and waiting for the kicks or movements to come. As such, every night this week John has had to work late and so when he comes in I'm already in position on the couch. EM's not usually that active up until that point - but as soon as John walks in and Sammie starts doing her little happy-cry thing, the dang baby starts moving around. It is the damnest thing I've ever imagined. John then comes over to the couch and puts his hands on the belly and says hello and EM's moving and kicking. Either EM is responding to his voice, Sammie's excitment or my own blood pressure maybe picking up when he comes home we'll never know. But I think she -I mean - EM - hears his voice, knows he's home and is showing off!! Last night he was even able to feel a few flutters, not full on kicks, but he said he felt "something!". Though, he prob just said that so I'd let him take his hand off my belly and go eat :)

Stay tuned...next post will be the gender report - hopefully!!!

1-2-3- KICK!!

"Ann & I at Julie's Baby Shower"
Thats right - I felt the first official kick last night!! Just laying there watching American Idol ( yes, another symptom of this pregnancy, I am now addicited to American Idol!) and had my hand on my tummy and thump-thump!! And trust me - it wasnt gas. I know gas and this was not it :) John came to bed and we shut the tv and just laid there real still so he could feel and even though I felt a few more thumps ( all on the same side) they weren't strong enough for him to feel just yet. Still, EM was def kickin around in there - maybe dancing :) Pretty darn cool!! I just cannot wait til EM's moving around so John can feel it -- and the girls -- and all of EM's Aunties and Grandma and Grandpa and...and...:)

17 weeks & another visit from grandparents-to-be

We had a great visit with mom and dad. They got to pat the belly - which seems to be growing by the day - and feed the belly with good meals out. We also celebrated Mom's PHD, with yes, a great big meal. All in all a wonderful time and we are feeling great. As far as the dreams tally go - I've had one dream of a girl and one of a boy. John's had one of a boy - in two 1/2 weeks we'll know who's right ;)

15 wk check up - ALL GOOD!!

No pictures to show but we did hear a heartbeat and it was strong! The baby was also moving around in there and the doc said all sounded good. I've gained 6 lbs - so am right on target, so all in all a v.v. good doc visit. Our next one will be THE one - lets call it G-Day - we will find out the gender. So until then, we'll have to keep on dreaming and predicting. Speaking of, I had a dream Monday night that we had a girl, she was newborn, had my nose, John's eyes, Angelina Jolie's lips (I know!) and brown hair. She was beautiful. Then suddenly she was a toddler, she had teeth and was running around talking and I was trying to put barettes in her hair. I woke up feeling very warm and wonderful. John had a dream last week that we brought home a boy baby - so we are one for one. Please feel free to share your dreams if you have any that will tip the scales in one or the other direction :) At the end of the day, we are blessed and happy and a healthy baby - be it boy or girl - is all we pray for.

14 wks & I'm Not Fat...

I'm Knocked Up!! Thats the fun t-shirt Auntie Chel Chel got us - and as you can see, I wear it proudly. We had a week of growing pains but that is all good cause, as you can see, there is def something growing in there and we like that! All this growing doesn't just make Mommy-to-be tired -- check out Daddy and Big Sister :)
